Clinic

Description

This clinic is designed to help you develop a clearer line of communication and, therefore, build a better relationship between you and your horse from the ground.

With your feet on solid ground you are in a great situation to learn to read his body language and understand the psychology behind it. Through the clinic you will learn to adjust how he thinks and feels about you as his leader by enabling him to turn his body loose to your suggestion, and then it is when you are at this stage you can start to encourage him to explore new ranges of movement and ways of going.

There will also be a small liberty section to this clinic where you will have an opportunity to learn to work your horse with no lines attached. This is a wonderful experience and opportunity to take a look at how many of the conversations we have with our horses about energy, rhythm, relaxation and engagement he really understands as opposed to just running around us in a circle because he is attached to us by a lunge line or rope. Working with horses at Liberty can become a creative pleasure for both horse and human.

Whether you are interested in one of the advancing clinics, you or your horse have confidence issues, you have a young or injured horse that cannot be ridden, wanted get rid of some unwanted behaviour before getting into the saddle or would just like to try something new and make the bond between you and your horse even stronger, then this is the clinic for you.

Typically the day starts at 10am once you have got a hot drink and a note pad ready we will discuss some theory behind the topics we will be covering as well as answering any questions you may have. Then we will start work with our horses in some group work but mostly one to one sessions which enables us to really focus on the individual. This means that when you are not working with your horse you have a great opportunity to spectate other horses and pick up the finer details that are easier to see as an outsider looking in. Then we will take an hour for lunch, pick up further training in the afternoon, then usually round everything up just before 5pm. This clinic will also be interspersed by inspiration demonstrations by students of the horse who have practised and perfected the techniques covered showing fantastic results at different stages of training.

If you have any questions related to any of the above or any queries relating specifically to you and your horses' needs please don't hesitate to get in touch.
