Clinic

Description

Whether you or your horse are just starting out in your ridden work together or you have been riding your horses for a long time but still feel there may be some foundational floors in your relationship from the saddle, this clinic is a great follow up to the introduction to ground skills and liberty clinic.

We will start the day by sitting down with you and getting a feel for where you and your horse are at, before helping you set some short and long term goals.  From here we can establish a time line and set you up for the day with some theory and techniques to help you and your horse get started.

Usually we will help you to divide your horses body into sections and help you create aids that communicate to each part of your horses body individually, keeping things nice and simple to avoid that mind boggling feeling of trying to ride the whole horse at the same time with sticky or unclear aids. Then once you and your horse feel clear and confident about you influencing the different  parts of his body individually we will help you to bring the whole thing together. Enabling you and your horse to feel confident and under control at all gaits and in different environments (e.g. in an arena, open spaces, with other horses, etc).

The pace and difficulty of this clinic will be very much determined by you and your horses' ability and confidence levels so you will get lots of one to one time as well as being able to learn lots from each others experiences. Our aim is for you to finish the clinic with exciting long term goals in place, however big or small, and a clear strategy on how you will reach them, armed with lots of great tools, feel, timing, and techniques, to make your journey wherever you and your horse are going a fun one.

The day typically starts at 10am with coffee and theory so be sure to bring a note pad, then we will head out and do some work with the horses before breaking for lunch at 1pm for an hour. Then we will do some more work with the horses in the afternoon before rounding things up at 5pm. There will also be some inspirational demonstration by students of the horse who have practised and perfected the techniques covered to show how the techniques and theory can be used in different ways to create fantastic results at different stages of training. I know this may sound like a long days riding but a lot of time will be spent walking through techniques and watching others walk through techniques so that everyone is clear on there individual programmes of training for when they get home.

This clinic is excellent preparation for any more advanced clinics you may be attending later on in the year, but places fill up fast so be sure to book now to avoid disappointment.

If you have any questions related to any of the above or any queries relating specifically to you and your horses needs, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
